Long Answers Question
Q7. Toto’s mischiefs are
beyond imagination. Support your answer from the story ‘The Adventures of
Toto’.
Yes, Toto’s mischiefs are indeed beyond imagination. He was of a destructive nature as he tore down the wallpaper, destroyed the author’s blazer and shattered down the dish into pieces.
Toto would disturb other animals in private zoo. On a train journey Toto popped his head out of the bag, frightened the Ticket Collector that made Grandfather pay for an extra ticket. Toto would hit the female members in the family with any object that comes to his hand and also tear their clothes.
Q8. Grandfather bought the Toto from its owner because of his poor condition; this shows that Grandfather was a kind person. But, later on he sold Toto back again to his owner. Does this show that his kindness was not genuine? Give your comment.
Ans. We cannot say that Grandfather’s
kindness was not genuine. He initially bought Toto to rescue him from poor
conditions clearly reflects his compassion and concern for animals.
However, Toto was too mischievous and
destructive to be kept at home. He caused damage to property, troubled other
pets, and created chaos in the household. Grandfather likely realized that
keeping Toto was not practical or fair to the family and to other animals.
