Ans.  Various persons are tried in the king’s court: the merchant, the bricklayer, the dancing girl, the goldsmith and again the merchant. Each one of them puts the blame for the death of the thief on the other.

Ans.  It was the rich man who was finally blamed. It was because his father was thought to be the real ‘murderer’ of the thief. He had died. But his son had inherited his property and his ‘sins’. So he was so die for his father’s crime. He escapes punishment because he is very thin and the stake cannot it him.

Ans. The guru advises his disciple not to stay back in the Kingdom of Fools because nothing can be predicted about the behaviour of the foolish people. The disciple remembers those words when his is going to be executed because he is fat to fit the stake.

Ans. The guru and his disciple began to quarrel. The guru told the king that whoever was executed there would be king in the next birth. And the one who followed would be a minister. The king and his minister released the disciple and decided to die at the stake so that they could be king and minister respectively in the next birth, too. Thus the guru saved his disciple by befooling the king and his minister.
