Long Answer Type
Question
1. Write a few features of a presentation program, in detail.
Ans. LibreOffice Impress has the following Key Features:
Slide Master: The Slide Master acts as a blueprint for your entire
presentation. By modifying the master slide, you can globally set formatting
preferences like fonts, backgrounds, and company logos that will appear
consistently across all slides.
Animation Effects: You can add motion to individual objects on a
slide using Custom Animations. These include entrance, emphasis, exit, and
motion paths, with full control over timing and speed.
Slide Transitions: These are the visual effects that occur when
moving from one slide to another. Impress offers a Transitions deck where you
can select different effects and set them to trigger on a mouse click or
automatically after a set time.
Slide Notes: Accessible through the Notes View, this feature allows
you to attach personal scripts or reminders to each slide.
2. What is the difference between a Title bar and a Status
bar?
Ans. The Title Bar is
primarily used for identification; it displays the name of the current file
being edited and the application's name. It also houses essential window
management controls, such as minimize, maximize, and close buttons. It is
located at the very top of the window.
Conversely, the
Status Bar at the bottom provides real-time, dynamic information regarding your
current work session. In a presentation context, it displays the specific slide
number you are currently viewing, the total slide count, and the applied slide
design.
3. Write the steps to
save a presentation.
Ans. To save your presentation in LibreOffice Impress, you
can follow these simple steps:
Open the Save Dialog:
Go to the File Menu and select Save (or press Ctrl + S).
Choose a Location:
In the file browser window that appears, navigate to the folder on your
computer where you want to store the file. Enter the file name.
Finalize: Click
the Save button to finish the process.
4. What is the use of
a Slide Show tab?
Ans. The main uses of this menu include:
Starting the
Presentation: You can choose to start the show from the very first slide
(F5) or from the current slide you are editing (Shift + F5).
Slide Show Settings:
This allows you to customize the technical delivery, such as running the show
in a window instead of full screen, setting the presentation to loop and repeat
automatically.
Custom Slide Shows:
You can create a subset of your presentation that only shows specific slides in
a specific order without deleting the others from your file.
Rehearse Timings:
This feature opens the presentation with a timer, allowing you to record how
long you spend on each slide to set up an automatic slideshow.
5. How can you
animate an object?
Ans. To animate an object in LibreOffice Impress, follow
these steps to add movement and visual flair:
Select the Object:
In Normal View, click on the specific text box, image, or shape you want to
animate.
Open the Animation
Panel: Navigate to the Sidebar on the right side of the screen and click
the Animation icon
Add an Effect:
Click the plus (+) button (Add) in the Animation deck from the categories such
as Entrance, Emphasis and Exit.
Customize Settings:
Once an effect is added, you can adjust the Start condition (on click, with
previous, or after previous), the Duration (speed), and the Delay.
6. How slide transition is different from animation?
Ans. A Slide Transition refers to the visual movement that
occurs when moving from one slide to the next during a presentation. It affects
the entire page, acting as a bridge between two slides with effects like
"Fade," "Wipe," or "Push." Transitions are used
to create a professional flow throughout the presentation and are applied
through the Slide Transition deck in the Sidebar.
In contrast, Animation is applied to individual objects
within a single slide, such as text boxes, images, or shapes. Animations
control how these elements enter, move, or exit the screen while the slide is
currently being viewed. While transitions focus on the sequence of the deck,
animations focus on emphasizing specific content and controlling the pace of
information delivery. Essentially, transitions manage the scene changes, while
animations manage the action occurring on the stage.
